Powerhouse takes Advantage of the Impending Zombie Apocalypse

Since we hate to be left out of any current trends in overwhelmingly unfounded fear and anxiety, we here at Powerhouse Animation thought it was about time we jumped on the zombie apocalypse bandwagon along with the rest of you.

Lucky for us, we were able to partner with Madison, Wisconsin game studio Per Blue to create the opening cinematic for their mobile game about, you guessed it, zombies. Parallel Zombies has been a hit at E3 this week and is getting some press from the gang at Joystiq. Sign up to play Parallel Zombies here, and watch the Powerhouse opening trailer below. Oh, and don't forget to keep a machete handy just in case...

We Need to Talk About Kevin

Those of you who know us here at Powerhouse know that we have quite a history with the incomparable Kevin Smith. Back in 2002 Powerhouse worked with Kevin to create a custom arcade game--and cabinet-- called "Jen Saves Ben" as a "Jersey Girl" wrap present for then "it-couple" Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. The next year, we worked with Kevin and crew to do a test for a potential Clerks feature film, and in 2004 we animated the 8-minute Lost Scene for the Clerks X DVD set.

Now, 10 years later, we are finally revitalizing our relationship with Kevin and the View Askew family with a few exciting new projects! This week, Kevin launched his new Hulu series. The series, called Spoilers, will run for 5 episodes with each one featuring an animated clip from his popular podcast-- Smodcast. The first of these "Smodimations" is available to watch now! Check it out:

You can also watch the full episode, "Girls Just Wanna Have Guns" featuring Carrie Fisher, here:

As if that wasn't enough, we are also working with Kevin Smith on developing a few mobile games for his upcoming "Smarcade" which are slated to release next month at Comic-Con. While we can't say much about these yet, here's a little shout out from Kevin himself about the project:

We promise to post all Kevin Smith-related news as it develops. Keep watching Hulu for new episodes of Spoilers and check out our upcoming Smodimations! If you're attending Comic-Con keep your eyes peeled for the Powerhouse/ViewAskew mobile games!
